Before you re going to know what is medical informatics i would like you to know what is informatics then you will easily understand what is medical informatics.

Informatics is science that combining information technology and people together and make use of it then you may wonder what is the different between informatics and computer science the answer is not clear since they shared some common attributes but informatics focuses on information while computer science focuses on software, hardware, network, etc for medical informatics definition i would like to quote from my professor Bill Hersh at OHSU
"the integrative discipline that arises from the synergistic application of computational informational cognitive organizational and other sciences whose primary focus is the acquisition storage and use of information in the health biomedical domain".
